Summer holiday at a language school in England

Last summer we had a language holiday with other Bavarian kids. We spent our holidays in Bexhill on Sea, it’s a small town near London. We were guests in a host family with two other girls, Lisa and Carolin.

Their father’s name was Thomas and his wife was called Charlet. The family had two kids, Ailish,7 and Niamh,6. They were very friendly to us. Sometimes we didn’t understand what they had said, because they spoke a little bit fast.
Every day we went to school for four lessons. The teachers spoke only English but they had a dictionary. After school we played games with the four teamers, we went to another city or we went to the beach and so on.

And now Alisia tells you a little story about one trip we made: One day we went with the teamers to London and we saw all the sights like the Tower of London, the big Eye, Big Ben and the Buckingham Palace. There we watched the “Changing of the Guards”, when the soldiers have a parade. Then we went shopping. We came back to Bexhill very late in the night.
Our host family said that Bexhill was very small, but we didn’t think so, they had a McDonald’s! On the last day we went to London again and visited Madame Tussaud’s and went shopping in Oxford Street. There were so many people!
In the evening we returned to Bexhill and crossed the channel to Holland by ferry. It took twelve hours to get to Lauf by bus. I think England is a very nice country and if you want to do a trip to England next year you’ll find more information at Kreisjugendring.
